The SPOT Team (Speech Pathology and Occupational Therapy) are available to all classes across the school. They provide support to staff and students targeting a broad range of skills. The aim of SPOT involvement is to support classroom staff to continue interventions in class on a daily basis.

The Speech Pathologists support with:

  • Alternative communication systems

  • Functional communication skills

  • Engagement, play and interaction

  • Receptive Language (understanding of Language)

  • Expressive Language

  • Literacy skills

The Occupational Therapists support with:

  • Handwriting and Cutting

  • Self-care and Life skills

  • Gross motor skills

  • Play and Social skills

  • Self-regulation and readiness to learn

  • Bus travel safety

  • Transitions

  • Posture and Seating

The SPOT Assistants support with the provision of resources and continuation of intervention in the classroom.
